Tracing our way towards Hollywood, we were invited to supervise Iranian director Rafi Pitt's fifth feature film "Soy Nero". This German-French-Mexican co-production is the first film to address the US Green Card soldier issue, a subject of great concern to a large number of Mexicans and Latinos who were deported after 9/11 and joined the US army as their last resource to return home.
In this project we were in charge of negotiating and clearing the rights to music by Jack White, Chao Feliciano and John Fahey, to name some of the artists featured in the film's soundtrack. We were also able to place two of our own iAMusic artists to musicalise two scenes: La Mecánica Popular's psychedelic salsa hit "Milagro" and Dax Pacem Orchestra's fun vintage salsa track "Dulce".
"Soy Nero" premiered at Berlin International Film Festival 2016 as part of the competition and was praised by critics as a "righteous, gripping genre-melding work" (IndieWire).
